Mental Health Bill

For the past 8 years, the Government have been trying to write a new Mental Health Bill. This was quite a controversial bill where they were planning to just lock up those with personality disorders who *could* pose risk (either to themselves or other people). This is a complete breach of human rights. It really annoyed and aggravated me.
However, today I have heard that the bill is to be scrapped [news.bbc.co.uk]. This is extremely pleasing. The mental health charity, Mind [mind.org.uk] is extremely pleased about this as it was a very medieval way of dealing with mental health issues. This is the 21st century, where a huge percentage of people have various mental health problems. These people should be offered as much help as possible and not be scared of going to a mental health practicioner without the fear of being locked up.
