Cables and More Calorimetry

Firstly, here is a photograph of the second Calorimetry [knitty.com]:
This was knitted using 5mm needles, 60 stitches and beautiful Rowan Biggy Print 100% Merino Wool yarn. It is soooo warm.
Tonight, I have been learning to do cables on my needles. I want to make some Fetching Mittens [knitty.com] by turning these fingerless gloves into mittens. However, they have a basic cable in it and, as I have never cabled in the past, I wanted to give it a shot before using my aran yarn on it. Here are my results:
I’m quite pleased with it all.
And finally, I had an order from Amazon delivered today and it brought me SnB The Knitter’s Handbook [amazon.co.uk] so I have been having a look through it and spotting patterns! Such fun and games
