Finished Socks
Posted By Laura on March 25, 2007
Yippeeeeee! I have managed to finish my first ever pair of socks. This makes me extremely happy.
Now, I can’t actually wear the sock on the right as I have grafted it wrong. But I am about to start my third sock in the same yarn (Opal Rainforest yarn) so that I have a working pair. They are slightly small, but I don’t really care. I just can’t believe that I have finished my first ever pair of socks! I need to block it, I think, so that the heel has slightly more shape, but either way, I am dead chuffed.
After this, I think I am going to learn how to do toe-up socks, possibly following knitty’s Universal Toe-Up Sock Formula [knitty.com]. I want to get good so I can knit knitty’s clessidra socks as I think they are fantastic.
In other knitting news, I have been naughty and spent some money on Get Knitted‘s sale. Here are my purchases so far:
Two hanks of 50g Alchemy Yarn‘s Synchronicity [alchemyyyarns.com], which is 50% silk and 50% wool.
And …
… two 50g hanks of Art Yarn‘s Supermerino yarn [artyarns.com], which is 100% superwash merino wool.
Both are as soft as can be. I am also waiting for 2 more hanks of sock yarn, just to add to my stash. What can I say – it was a sale ![]()
But that is it now. I have plenty to be getting on with. I just wish there were more hours in the day to knit. At least the Easter Holidays begin very soon!
