Knitting News

I’ve not updated this for a while, even though I have lots to show off! Well, sort of.
Recently, we decided that my stash was taking over too much space in the house. To combat this, we decided to get an ottoman chest to put it all in. However, it doesn’t all fit in. Whoops. Now, bare in mind that it isn’t just yarn that is in here but lots of cross stitch stuff too. And Suzy was interested too:

Whoops!
I have recently been purchasing yarn too. I have bought lots of opal sock yarn from Get Knitted [getknitted.com] (I love that shop!).

I have bought some to do lots of various socks, including one from a magazine I have (can’t remember which one), more of the sock that I have completed (hopefully 2 pairs) and the last skein is because it was on sale. Ah well.
I did realise what I did wrong with my original sock. I knitted it inside out. I thought that I should be knitting it this way, but apparently not. That is why my Kitcheners Graft appeared to be on the wrong side. I know why the graft was in the wrong place too (because I read the pattern wrong!) so I should be ready to go with my next sock. Going to do cuff down ones again and then I have the circs to do the toe up ones. The socks from my magazine are toe up and look relativesly straight forward. Can’t wait to start them!
I have also bought yarn to make my sudoku blanket, and because I have been in a photographing mood, I couldn’t resist taking pictures of all the yarn:

It is Sirdar Bonus Chunky and I do quite like it. Tis nice and, because it is thick yarn and thick needles, the squares come up quickly. That isn’t all of it, mind. I have 15 more skeins to arrive! I need 9 colours, and within each colour I need 9 squares. Here is a collage thing of the completed squares:

Right, off to start my sock!
