Slow Down

Posted By Laura on April 26, 2007

Unfortunately, as I have been at school the last two weeks, I have had to slow down on my knitting. I seem to have to teach children instead of knit :(
I have had time to do a couple of squares for my entrelac blanket though:

Slow progress. I reckon I either need to do 36 or 49 squares for a double bed throw. The squares come up really quickly.
Whilst shopping on Get Knitted [getknitted.com] for some Rowan Kid Classic for a toy monkey for David, I came across a pattern for a lace wrap. I have never knitted anything lacy before. What do you think of this pattern …

… knitted in this yarn …

?
I reckon I am mad. I have never done anything lacy before! But it was really pretty. The pattern shows both the charts and the written pattern. Maybe this will inspire me to get over my fear of charts? Who knows. But I know I have bitten off more than I can chew, but it was too purty. And the laceweight yarn is gorgeous! Haha!
I do have a finished object. A few years ago I knitted a selection of squares to make a blanket. The blanket never got finished but recently rediscovered the squares. I bought a couple of cushion inserts off eBay the other week and have been making the squares into cushions. I am not happy with how well poorly they have been sewn together, but they’ll do. Better than chucking them out! The photo has been taken far away so you can’t see the joins as closely! Ha!

That’s all for now, folks :p
