Flooding and Felting

Posted By on June 26, 2007

Today I am not at work. It is a ‘snow’ day. However, not because of snow, but the floods that have affected Sheffield [news.bbc.co.uk]. Many schools are closed, including *all* the schools in my area, roads are closed, including the M1 from junction 36 to 32 and a major dam looks like it is going to burst any second now [news.bbc.co.uk]. Oh, and Meadowhall [meadowhall.co.uk] is now a dirty swimming pool. With looters :( Glad i’m not at school today as it took me 3.5 hours to drive 5 miles yesterday to get home. Was not impressed by that.
So, an extra day at home, has meant that I found time to felt my Booga Bag. It is currently drying / blocking. I will take a photograph when it is finished. The handles are a lot shorter than the picture on the website and I knit it to the 6ft that they suggested. We’ll see what it is like when I make it up. Overall, I am extremely pleased with how it came out. Yippeee :D
So I have now started a new project. Hopefully, it will be a fairly quick knit. I have started the Irish Hiking Scarf [helloyarn.com]. I am using ‘mega’ chunky yarn! Hehe. It is a slight variation, but it’s going to be huge and chunky. Again, photos will come later.
Right, off to watch BBC News 24 a bit more :)

Yoiks! Stay safe! I’ve been more than one flood. Not fun, but days off are nice. :) Can’t wait to see your bag. My handles turned out way shorter as well. I didn’t use Noro, so I dunno.
