FO: Booga Bag

Posted By on June 27, 2007

This evening, I have finished off my Booga Bag.

Yesterday, during my ‘snow’ day, I felted it in my washing machine. It was so much fun! It came out smaller and fluffy :D
Seriously, though. This was a really good, quick knit. I spent 10 days on this project, from start to finish, but I had it sitting for a couple of days waiting to felt. It has been knit using some beautiful Noro Kureyon and 6.5mm circular needles. I love the colours it has created by felting it. You couldn’t really see the stripes pre-felting, but they came out so yummy. I also thought that it would be larger than it actually is. However, it is going to make a good replacement bag for my current ‘school’ bag. Big enough for my diary and keys. That’s all that matters :)
I tried to take photos of the Irish Hiking Scarf that I have started. However, the photos I took weren’t that great. It is becoming quite a quick knit, though. I am at least a quarter of the way through it, due to the fact that I am using ‘mega chunky’ yarn and 10mm needles.
In other news, the flooding has improved. I went back to school today, however, less than one third of the children came in. We are having rolling power cuts, M1 was still closed and some places are still a mess. However, look at this evening’s sky:

Unfortunately, this is not supposed to last, as we have more severe weather forecast for the weekend :(

Oh your booga bag turned out really well! Congrats! Mine just about holds my small wallet and keys. Maybe a lipstick. Or it holds a sock project. That’s it. It’ll sit in the palm of my hand. I was trying to thing how much bigger it would need to be to be more purse size… Hmm…

  2. Love your Booga! :) I use mine all the time, and often get positive comments on it. I’m thinking about another one, but with different straps; knitting i-cord drives me insane!
