FO: Lace Edged Hat
Posted By Laura on August 10, 2007
I finished the first of my tidal waves socks so, before I cast on the second, I decided to create the Lace Edged Women’s Hat from Head Huggers.
This was knit using 4mm straight and circular needles and some Debbie Bliss Rialto extra fine merino yarn.
My goodness. This knit was complex. Because I read the pattern wrong
It took me ages to work out sk2p. And all the time, it was written above the instructions. I ended up doing the lace on straight needles because I got fed up frogging the stuff on the circulars. Once I figured it out (about 4 hours later
) it was plain sailing.
I knit this in medium size and it came out really nice. I am extremely impressed. It only took me a day (of solid) knitting to create such masterpiece. I have a couple of tension issues in a couple of places, but they are only noticable when you really look closely.
I’ve still not cast on sock 2 because I have been really busy today doing boring houseworky stuff. However, I have managed to capture some real love towards my knitting:
This is Charlie. He absolutely loves my cushion. He sleeps on it beside me all the time and it has become *his* cushion rather than a cushion for the sofa. He is very cute on it and it is his bed. Nobody elses.
The girls both love my new fuzzy feet slippers too! They come up and rub themselves on them, Missy ended up with it over her head at one point the other day too. This is Suzy, fascinated by the slipper. She is a rogue, is that one. So naughty.
They look like probably contenders for a Kitty Pi bed.
I’m sure my Louie wants one.
Go jumper! Go jumper!
