FO: Tidal Wave Socks

Posted By on August 24, 2007

Pattern: Tidal Wave Socks from SWTC
Needles: 2.5mm Opal Metal DPNs
Yarn: Cherry Tree Hill Supersock Pot Luck
I love these socks! The pattern was a really nice, easy pattern to follow and it came up so nicely. I fell in love with the yarn and found it all just rather yummy to knit with. I would use CTH again.
I really need some sock blockers and a better place to photograph these socks as the photo really doesn’t do it justice.
I have picked up the needles again and have not been doing my jumper. That is next, though. I shall be finishing off the back once I have completed this:

Anyone got any ideas what I am knitting? I’m not going to tell you until it is finished. See if you can work it out :D I have a few more pieces to knit before I can put it all together. It is something that David urged me to knit. I am using Rowan Kid Classic in 2 different colours and I do love this yarn to knit with. I have used it a few times and my jumper is being knit in it too. It is rather yummy stuff.
I have also been buying yarn. Yes, I know it is during my hiatus, but I was purchasing from the Yarn Yard for a swap. This is an independent yarn supplier and I wanted to sample the company myself. So i purchased some Stroud in a chestnut colour.

It is rather yummy looking and I am looking forward to knitting with it. I’m not sure what pattern to use yet as it is a semi solid colour so I reckon that it needs something with a delicate pattern. I shall have a hunt, methinks.
I also bought some trekking xxl. I have heard so many good things about this yarn I thought I would find out for myself. The colours are ace and really bright, so I am reckoning that something simple, like a basic stockinette sock will be called for. I am all excited about it.
There are lots of things I am excited about in this entry. I was awarded this by the beautiful Webbo.

I am rather touched by this! I love it :D I will award it to people later. I want to have a good think about it. Hmmmmmmmmm :p
And Secret Pal 11 has started! Hello Secret Pal *waves*
Well, that’s it for my marathon entry. It is gorgeous outside so I am going to continue to fill our skip with rubbish. w00t.
EDIT: Since I posted my entry, I received a parcel from my Secret Pal. She has sent me the 25th Edition of Vogue Knitting magazine! Having had a flick through it, there are lots of fun things in there. Thank you secret pal :D

Is that an ITV Digital Monkey I see there?

  2. Laura says:

I have never seen the ITV Digital Monkey. So no :p
    Good guess. But no :p

  3. Secret Pal says:

I thought it was the monkey too – so I’ll wait to be surprised! I like the socks, I haven’t tried that pattern yet, it’s on my to do list that gets longer by the day. I’m glad the magazine arrived so quickly – I added several things from this issue to my list!

  4. Wheezy says:

Is it just an ordinary monkey then? Cheeky monkey?

  5. Beth says:

I’ve got that Tidal Wave pattern on my to-knit list. Yours are beautiful. I’ve not tried that type of CTH yet.
And that ITV Digital Monkey is on my to-knit list too. Is that what you’re knitting? It’s the pattern this blogger uses, I think:

    (I *love* that blog!)

    Re: Mystery knitting
It’s obviously either a Cthulu or a bagpipes cosy.

  7. Badger says:

Iz a monkey from Simply Knitting ages ago – summit like issue 3. And if you say, ‘no, it’s not a monkey’ then you are WRONG! I know a monkey when I see one, even if he is dissected.
And I like the socks very much too.
