Hello!

Hello people.
Hope you are all well. As ever, life is hectic. School is busy and we are still doing the house. We didn’t do much this weekend as it was my birthday a week ago so we spent a bit of time together doing nice things. It was lovely.
I also got some really funky birthday presents. David gave me a wonderful lens for my dSLR, an eeyore, lots of Meerkat Manor things and some wonderful Brown Sheep Lambs Pride yarn for a Suki bag [knitty.com].
I also received some goodies from my SP11.
I cannot wait for reveal. She has really been spoiling me. In my birthday package I received some gentle nudges to do a bit of colourwork (which scares me to death!) including some accessories that I will need and the IK Winter 2005 issue which has lots of yummy colourwork patterns in it. I now just need a little bit of confidence, methinks. She also sent me some chocolate, a funky badge and a scoubidou book! And yes, it did give me quite a giggle! My favourite thing in the package though, has to be the button makers. I didn’t realise that there was such a thing. I can’t wait to get some inspiration and try it out!
Thank you SP! The package was really lovely. I can’t wait to put it all to use (the chocolate has already been used. Mmmmmmm … )
In knitting news, I have been mostly knitting My So Called Scarf. I love the pattern and have been using some Sirdar Click from my stash. I have used 2 balls so far and will continue it until I have used all 4 that I have hidden away. I think it will make it fairly long, which is good.
Oooooh, I have started a knitting club at school! This has been rather amusing. We have 40 minutes on a Friday afternoon and I have 9 children, aged between 7 and 11. I have a mix of boys and girls (4 boys, 5 girls) and they are really persevering with it. First week, we ‘learnt’ to cast on. The second week I cast on, knit a few rows and the children ‘learnt’ the knit stitch. I cast off and they all managed to take something home. This week we are doing the same thing again. And then after than I am going to get some chunky yarn and needles so that we can ‘make’ a scarf. The kids are all fantastic. I have a great group and I am really enjoying doing this with them! Maybe they’ll get it by Christmas!
