Moved at Last!

Posted By on November 8, 2007

Well, we have finally moved house. We moved on the 31st and we are still in a little bit of disarray. Me being a bit ill doesn’t help, but that’s the way it goes. The house is lovely. The builders have been idiots and I now have a bit of a commute to work. I have to go on both M18 and M1. Tis scary but I’m getting used to it :)
The cats have been a bit naughty recently. They aren’t allowed out at the moment so they are just bouncing along, fighting, jumping on us at 3am and the like. Naughty cats.
Anyway, some fibre-y content now!
My Refresher Socks and Diamond Knit Shawl are on hold at the moment. Mainly because I am not sure where they are … But that’s ok. I will find them soon! Instead I have started a crocheted striped hat using some RYC Cashsoft yarn from my stash. It is so soft and stripy. I think I chose the wrong colours as they are a bit similar, but it is coming up rather quickly and is very yummy to actually work with. The yarn is possibly the softest yarn I have ever used, so I hope that I will end up with a very luxurious hat.
It is also the time of year that scarves are needed. In June, I was making a modified Irish Hiking Scarf for David. I was using some Mega Chunky yarn from Wendys. You can’t really see the pattern very well but it is sooooo thick. I have one more ball of yarn to use and then I may need to buy another. We’ll see when I get to the end of this current ball. However, I must confess, it has been sat in my WIP pile since June :( I reckon I should get it out and finish it because it has been rather a bit nippy recently.
I also want to make a scarf for myself. I have recently seen many different people knitting the My So-Called Scarf or, as Jen puts it, the Woven Rattan Stitch Scarf. I love the look of the Manos Del Uruguay yarn for it. The yarn looks rather yummy, particularly the variegated stuff. But I have some Sirdar Click that should do the job rather nicely, hidden away in my stash. I have put the MDU yarn on my yarn wishlist for now, though. I can’t justify the purchase, what with Christmas round the corner and a house buy only last month!
I was naughty, though. Before moving house, I purchased some Cherry Tree Hill yarn for my Secret Pal. However, I couldn’t resist a skein for me. It was very different to the colours I would normally go for, but they are luscious.
I would take photos but I am unsure where my camera is :/

Yay! Glad to hear you’re getting settled. I highgly recommend the so-called scarf, or whatever it’s called. Love it, love it, love it. And the Manos would be a dream. :)
