Knitting Group
Posted By Laura on January 29, 2008
At school, I have a knitting group. It consists of 5 children aged 7-10. They are a really nice group of children who I love working with. For the last couple of weeks and until Easter we have been making some scarves. I got some really thick needles and some very chunky yarn and cast on 5 stitches for them all. The results are extremely varied. We did have a couple of sessions just practice before casting on our scarves, mind!
P, Y3 girl. She is having so much fun with this!
J, Y3 boy.
R, Y3 girl.
S, Y4 boy. He is really good at it. He has done it all himself!
N, Y5 girl.
As you can see, the results are rather varied and we have have rather more than 5 stitches on each one now. But the kids are enjoying it and I’m enjoying it too. It is the highlight of my week! I’ll post more pictures when there is more scarf to show!
I absolutely love this post! It is the best post so far of 2008 anywhere on the tinternet! Have 10 house points!! I think all their efforts are brilliant. Looking at each one of them made me smile. Well done to each of them and well done to you. Look forward to updates.
How wonderful to get to introduce kids to the wonderful world of knitting! That would be the highlight of my week too
Can’t wait to see more of their progress.
