WIP: Babette Blanket

Posted By Laura on January 23, 2008

Back in August, I purchased lots of Elann Peruvian Highland Wool with the idea of making a Babette Blanket, as featured in Interweave Crochet many moons ago. When it arrived, we were in the process of moving house and I was a good girl and didn’t start it. However, now I have started it :D Here were the 17 different colours that I purchased. Aren’t they yummy?!

The yarn is delicious to crochet with. I do love it. It is rather soft and smooshy and each square is a delight to work on. As the squares were coming up, I wasn’t sure if the colours were working. However, when I placed the squares together, I was really pleased with how well they did work.

This is only sections 1-4. I am currently working on section 5 (the lone square at the top belongs to section 5). It comes up rather quickly, as you would expect with crochet, which is rather nice – I feel more accomplished crocheting, sometimes.
So, yaaaay for Babette and yaaaaay for elann.com. How I love both :D
On a different note … how typical is it that getknitted.com have a yarn sale, with my favourite sock yarn in it, just when I go on a yarn diet?! Grrrrr :|

What beautiful colours and what beautiful crochet! It looks lovely now, and I can only imagine how good it’s going to look when it’s completed. Clever girl!

  4. Babette is coming along fabulously! And that box of yarn looks so inviting. =)
I’m looking at a few patterns I’d like to to crochet at the moment. I’ve neglected the hooks since I learnt to knit, and I’m missing them.
