FO: Elijah

What a wondeful knit! I simply love Elijah. I wouldn’t call him my easiest knit, but he was relatively straightforward. I found him quite difficult sometimes, to manoeuvre on the needles my fingers really felt the tight tension. Apart from that, he was lovely to knit.
I also learnt a new technique. For the first time ever, I did short rows with a wrap and turn. This was much easier than I thought it would be. I may now try a short row heel on some socks.
The yarn is so soft and the tight tension means that it is a dense fabric that it created. The stuffing is cheap poly-whatever stuffing, which is quite heavy in comparison to the more expensive stuff that you would get in shop bought toys. But that’s alright, it means it is firmly stuffed, which I prefer.
All in all, I loved this knit. It took me ages as I had left him for a while. But now that he is finished and all ribbon-ed up, I am in love with him. I reckon you will see him again, in other photos. I get the impression that he will like to slip into photos unnoticed.
The only thing I am unsure of is his name. Elijah reminds me of a boy at school that I teach that I dislike. Have you got any suggestions for a name? I definitely think he is a boy elephant.
He looks like a Bertie to me, that should be a safe name with no classroom associations. He’s very lovely and the tight knit will mean that he stays that way with none of the stuffing worming its way out at a later date. He will be able to drape socks over his arm (although you may have to sneak a dpn down it for added stiffness)
Bo-Bo
I think he’s a Henry…but spelt Henrie – just to be cool
You did him proud. He really is lovely
