Hello!

Hello everyone. Long time, no update.
Life has been rather hectic. Work is busy and I have been doing no knitting. Well, that’s a lie. This half term I knitted up half a sock and ripped it back. I then did a bit of Elijah’s arm and then ripped that back too. I haven’t done any of my blankie and I haven’t had a FO for weeks and weeks. I just haven’t had the energy.
But things are on the change. It is the holidays :D Easter is upon us all. I am rather pleased about this fact.
School has been hectic and I have been busy. Yesterday was last day and it was a rather rubbish day to say the least. I decided to console myself with yarn shopping, which is what I did today. I took a trip down to Heath’s Country Store in Ollerton. It has lots and lots of rather yummy yarn and I came away with some goodies. For the first time (probably!) I didn’t buy any sock yarn! Instead I purchased:

some Manos del Uruguay stuff. My word, it’s gorgeous! I haven’t decided what to do with it yet. I am thinking a hat – possibly Urchin by Ysolda or some other funky hat design. I can’t decide – way too many options.
I also purchased

some Artesano 50% alpaca / 50% wool. This is destined to be a Marsan Watchcap for David. I’ve never knitted with alpaca before so I am rather looking forward to it.
My final purchase was a rather random one. I saw it in one of the buckets and was rather tempted by it. It is

banana fibre yarn from knitting4fun. It is a rather heavy yarn (200g = 160metres!) but it is rather yummy to the touch. I quite fancy a very lacy scarf / shawl knit on really large needles with it. It is so smooshy. Mmmmmmm.
I have lots of knitting to catch up on and that is what I intend to this holiday. Although I am on holiday, David isn’t. I want to:

  1. Make the second Uzume sock for my mum for mothers day.
  2. Finish off Ysolda’s Elijah (currently he has no arms, ears or eyes – he is too freaky looking to take a photo of at the moment!)
  3. Seam up my Babette blankie.
  4. Make a hat for David.
  5. Make a hat for me.
  6. And non-knitting related, have a go at patchwork.

So, as you can see, I have rather alot to do over the holidays. In between all of that, I also need to mark some assessments and find another job. So, if anyone knows of any teaching jobs going in Rotherham / Sheffield / Derbyshire then please let me know :D
Phew, that’s quite a busy holiday. So much for relaxing.
