I am a glutton for punishment and have signed up for this again. Yaaaaay
Onto the questionairre:
1. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? What fibers do you absolutely *not* like? I love merino in particular but am quite partial to most things. I haven’t taken any reactions to anything, I haven’t really come across anything that I wouldn’t use again either.
2. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in? Erm, a plastic bag
3. How long have you been knitting & how did you learn? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced? I learnt the basics when I was a child. I picked up the needles again about 18 months ago and haven’t really stopped. I consider myself to be intermediate. I try most things and won’t be put off by the complicated-ness of a pattern.
4. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list? I have an amazon one but it’s not that interesting. If you want the linky I can post it again
5. What’s your favorite scent? Mmmmmm, I love lavander and lillies. They are my favourite smells. Yum.
6. Do you have a sweet tooth? Favorite candy? I do, unfortunately, have a sweet tooth. I love chocolate and fruit allsorts. Yummy.
7. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do? Do you spin? I do lots of crafty things. I crochet and do cross stitch, I dabble in patchwork / quilting and will play about with some beads. I am most ‘talented’ at knitting, mind. I don’t spin. I would love to, though. I have a drop spindle and some fleece but I am too scared to use it incase I get it wrong!
8. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD) I have such an eclectic taste in music. My current favourites include Duffy, David Garrett and Westlife.
9. What’s your favorite color(s)? Any colors you just can’t stand? I love purple (could you guess?!), pinks, reds, deep greens, dark blues, just anything! I have most colours in my stash – from orange to dark blue.
10. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets? Family situation? I am married with 3 cats. No kids – the cats are hard enough work.
11. Do you wear scarves, hats, mittens or ponchos? I wear hats, scarves and mittens. No ponchos.
12. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit? I am in a sock frenzy at the moment but will knit whatever takes my fancy. This year I have knit Elijah, Babette blanket, Clapotis, socks, Branching Out …. again, very different!
13. What are you knitting right now? I have just finished the clapotis and have 2 pairs of socks on the go – the no purl monkeys and the rainy day socks.
14. Do you like to receive handmade gifts? Who doesn’t?!
15. Do you prefer straight or circular needles? Bamboo, aluminum, plastic? My current favourites are my knitpicks harmony needles. I have the DPN set and the interchangeable circs.
16. Do you own a yarn winder and/or swift? I own a yarn winder. Not a swift.
17. How old is your oldest UFO? About 8 months. I might just frog it, though. This is actual an anomoly as I tend to frog if I think I won’t finish it.
18. What is your favorite holiday? Christmas! I love Christmas.
19. Is there anything that you collect? I have a huge stamp collection and used to collect keyrings. Now I just collect yarn
20. Any books, yarns, needles or patterns out there you are dying to get your hands on? What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have? Erm, I don’t know! I love my needles and would like to try yarn like dream in colour smooshy or knitpicks or socks that rock. Yanno, the stuff that is not readily available in the UK. But they are not high on my list. I have a huge box of yarn to get through first
21. Are there any new techniques you’d like to learn? Not really, no. I am the sort of person that if I get an idea in my head that I would like to try, I will just try it – like lace. My first attempt at lace was really thin, laceweight stuff and it was an impulse. I am a rather impulsive person.
22. Are you a sock knitter? What are your foot measurements? I am a sock knitter and I am a UK8.
23. When is your birthday? November 13th.
