Hiya
Sorry for taking so long to reply. I've only just noticed this.
I didn't achieve gauge with Percy, and this yarn. It was slightly wider and I needed more rows to make the necessary length. I didn't think it mattered too much, though. The main issue was the lining. However, if you are a semi-competent seamstress, you should be able to adapt it fine. I'm not a great seamstress but managed to alter it no problem. I did block it, but again, not to the dimensions. I merely blocked it to even it all out and to stop the stockinette curling whilst trying to sew it together.
It's a lovely bag that has been well used. I hope you like it as much as me :)

Hi,
I'm just starting this bag myself and had a question for you. Were you able to acheive her gauge in the pattern (28sts/40rows per 4 in.)? I'm using her yarn and 3mm needles and my gauge is too big, and I'm a tight knitter!
I reknit my gauge swatch pulling the yarn as tight as possible and didn't even gain a stitch for all the effort! I wanted to know what your expience with it was before I go out and buy a smaller pair of $15 addi turbos! Although I'm not convinved this stiff cotton can go any smaller.
Thanks for any help.

I'm just starting this bag myself. Were you able to acheive her gauge in the pattern (28 sts, 40 rows/4 inches)? I'm using her recommended 3mm needles and yarn, and my gauge is still too big (and I'm a tight knitter!). I reknit a gauge swatch pulling the yarn as tight as possble and I didn't even get an extra stitch out of the effort!
I'm going crazy with it-just wanted to know what you expirence with it was.
Thanks!
