FO: Baby Surprise Jacket

Pattern: Baby Surprise Jacket by Elizabeth Zimmerman, School House Press Publications
Yarn: Cherry Tree Hill Supersock, Cherry Blossom
Needles: 3.25mm Addi Circ, used as straights

Finally! An entry! I have been really busy with the start of school. I finished this a while back, just only put buttons on recently.

This is a viral knit in all senses of the word. Such a wonderful construction makes it a really quick, easy pattern and definitely a firm favourite. I did really enjoy making it.

I found EZ’s pattern really difficult to follow, though. She has a rather chatty style when it comes to writing patterns, and I found that tricky. So, along steps in the joy that is Ravelry and someone showed me Kenny’s Spreadsheet. This was the most useful and wonderful spreadsheet which I used more than the actual pattern. I like step by step instructions. And that is what these were. The garter stitch is a lovely stitch to use and it means that I don’t need to purl at all!

All in all, wonderful, easy pattern and I would definitely knit it again. Oh yes.

Well, I do have another FO post to do in the next couple of days. I’ll leave that one for now as I have to still weave in the ends. And then another one that will match this jacket, but I still need to put the buttons on (I only bought the buttons for this project yesterday).

Other knitting news includes Kiri, which is currently on hold:

I am finding lace rather difficult to photograph, as it looks really rubbish on the circular needle. Which means that my Forest Path Stole looks equally rubbish:

This is my current project. And I love love love it :D

I was asked about Legoland the other day. Legoland was amazing! It was just fantastic :D Both David and I loved it. David posted some photos of it on his blog. We didn’t do any of the rides (apart from the crazy, freaky fairy tale boat ride) but it was just superb. Miniland is just the most amazing place. I would highly recommend it. And will go again when we have kids :D
