Long Time No See!

Well, it’s been a while since my last update so I feel that I should update some more. The whole new job and stuff seems to be taking up a heck of a lot of my time, so updates, knitting and general craftiness have been thin on the ground. Booooo. Well, what to update on? I have lots to tell you all.
Firstly, I shall show you my last FO. Which, quite sadly, was finished in August! Introducing, Wisp!
I shan’t do a proper FO entry for this, as it is so late. It was a quick knit, modified heavily and using Bright Dyes Laceweight. It is a lot shorter as I am using it as a neckerchief rather than a lace wrap.
Forest Path Stole is currently taking a little bit of a back burner. Instead of knitting that, I have been knitting Liesl.
I love love love this cardigan. I am using Rowan Kid Classic and it is just sumptious. Is that even a word? Who knows. Anyway, really lovely pattern, well written and even better because it is seamless
I am at a bit of a loss just now, because I am needing a small 7mm circular needle for the arms. They are somewhere in the post at the moment.
But that’s not really enough for 3 months worth of knitting. *sigh* I wish I had more hours in the day, or more energy when I get home from school. But 26 screaming children all day, hours of planning and then coming home exhausted, is not conducive to good crafting mojo. My mojo has been lost.
Another reason my crafting mojo has been lost is because I have lots of yarn in hanks. And the only thing worse than being too exhausted to knit, is being too exhausted to wind the hanks of yarn. I hate doing it. I have a ball winder but it is a hassle with 3 cats and I have no swift. Well, that should be I had no swift!
It was my birthday on Thursday and my darling husband purchased me this:
And I love love love it
Since getting it on Thursday I have been doing lots of winding with it. I have produced this:
The cats are rather amused by the swift. Missy watches at a safe distance, but Suzy will get closer to it. She is rather amusing. Charlie will investigate it afterwards. They are rather cute, the little pussy cats. I feel that the purchase of a swift should mean that I purchase more hanks of yarn. Husband is not so sure.
I think it is a good idea.
As well as a wonderful swift, he bought me some wonderful books.
And he also bought me some wonderful tickets to see Nutcracker at the Sheffield Lyceum in January! I love the theatre and ballet is even better. Yaaaaay for lovely husbands and yaaaay for absolutely lovely gifts.
I’ll try to post more often. Honest.
