WIP: Summer Garden Blanket

Posted By Laura on January 11, 2010

Well, with all this snow, we may as well bring a bit of summer back into our life! After seeing so many beautiful blankets, by Heather, Kaff and, of course, Lucy, I decided to do one myself. I ordered some yummy King Cole Merino using birthday money and have so far made 6 big squares! Yes, 6. Yay! Yes, I know. Not a huge amount. But a definite start. It’s going to be a throw for the living room. On the sofa.

Not too far through, but you get the picture.

Talking of pictures, this is also today’s entry for Project 365. I am aware that I haven’t posted all my days on here. Bad blogger that I am. But I have been putting them all on flickr. You can see my photo stream for project 365 here.

I have also been putting lots of other photos on flickr, including our wonderful walk here:

This is Fountains Abbey, a World Heritage Site in North Yorkshire. And it was just amazing yesterday with all the snow. Absolutely fantastic. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to take a lovely stroll, or a photographic walk in the snow. My flickr stream is here.

We have recently joined National Trust and English Heritage so expect more posts like that on flickr in the next few months.

The blanket looks gorgeous – granny squares are one of the reasons I’m teaching myself to crochet. There’s just something about them that looks so snuggly.
