Progress

Well, with Niamh’s help, I have now finished sewing up my Blankie of Doom.

Niamh was very helpful. She likes the ends. Shame I have to sew them all in. All 1600 of them :|

But now it is all sewn up.

I’m really pleased with how it looks. I now need to do the border. However, there is a slight flaw in the plan. I have ran out of black yarn. Hmmmm. So, off I trotted to HobbyCraft to get some more yarn. Alas, they didn’t have any :( So, I scored some Rowan R2 and Paper on sale :D Ten skeins for less than £3! w00t!

So, I went back home, lamenting the lack of black yarn to finish off Blankie of Doom but revelling in the delights of yarn on sale :D

Next, I decided to go to Heath’s Country Store, all the way in Ollerton. I remember that they had some Bonus DK before. So, off I trotted. Again. With a whingey baby in tow.

I arrived and lo and behold, no black. I sighed. Instead, I came away with some Sublime Organic Cotton!

Squeeeee! Again, I came home lamenting the lack of black yarn but pleased with my cotton!

So now I have ordered it online with some other yarn to make a funky little sackboy and a smith hedgehog. Yay!

Hehe, there’s no fooling you! I wasn’t smiling yesterday as I was trundling round – I was getting peeved! I am smiling today, though, at all the pretty yarn that I had to photograph. Such a hard life! Niamh is growing really fast. I want her to stop! I can’t believe I’m back at smelly work next week :(

Hi. Your blanket is really lovely; the colours really pop. I hate sewing in the ends too so well done for perseverance ;¬)

Well, the ends haven’t been sewn in yet … just the blankie sewn together. I’m trying to convince myself that if Niamh likes to play with the ends then it’s alright to leave them hanging off. So far, this isn’t washing with anyone :(

Thanks for the compliment on it too. I really do like this blankie. In one respect I’ll be sad when it’s all finished because i’ve enjoyed working on it. However, it’s been a marathon effort so I will also be relieved.
