FO: Raggedy Quilt

Posted By on April 14, 2011

I have a finished object to show you! I did have others but I couldn’t get a decent photo of them so they will have to wait.

So yes, a while ago I posted this entry about a ragged quilt after seeing the one on Amanda Jean’s blog. I had some squares already cut out and I decided to try and do my own. And I did :D

And I am so pleased with the finished results. Each square started off as 15cm, and the batting was 12cm squared. It is 15 squares by 12 squares which has made it the perfect size for my sofa. My sewing machine broke halfway through so I thought that I was going to have to leave it for a while until I purchased another but a friend lent me hers and I was away.

It didn’t take long to make. The longest part was snipping all the seams. That took ages and my fingers hurt afterwards.

It shed loads. And is still shedding, but that’s ok.

I am so so so chuffed with how it looks. I love it. And now I have caught the quilting bug. There are lots that I want to try out now. Eeeeek. I need a sewing machine first, though. Hopefully I’ll have an update on that soon.

Oh, and Suzy seems to approve of the quilt. I’m not sure I do …
