Just a quick entry. I have started my first ever jumper! This is the largest garment I have ever started. It is quite daunting. I have already had to frog it once. But that’s the trials and tribulations of a sweater *bounce* It’ll probably be finished a year next October!

I finished the first of my tidal waves socks so, before I cast on the second, I decided to create the Lace Edged Women’s Hat from Head Huggers. This was knit using 4mm straight and circular needles and some Debbie Bliss Rialto extra fine merino yarn. My goodness. This knit was complex. Because I read [...]

Well, after my previous entry, I didn’t purchase any sock yarn, but I realised that I didn’t have any socks OTN. So I needed to rectify that. And I did. By casting on this: These are the Tidal Wave socks from SWTC in a simply gorgeous Cherry Tree Hill supersock merino. And my goodness, is [...]

Today was a day of finishing off objects! Firstly, Fuzzy Feet from Knitty. This was a bizarre knit as I knitted a pair of socks on 7mm DPNs. They were mahoosive socks. It was quite funny. He was 60 this year We went to the Kyle Hotel and had a gorgeous meal there. It was really yummy. We *all* cleared our plates. [...]

Well, the school holidays are now upon us. And they were marked with the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows [amazon.co.uk]. Don’t worry, I shan’t put any spoilers here, but those who were expecting a children’s book should think again. It was extremely dark from start to finish. And it was bloody from [...]

What do you do when you don’t know what to knit? Crochet! I learnt to crochet before knitting, really. About 12 years ago, I had to do some sort of needlework / yarn work for home economics at school and I picked up crochet. I made a funky crocodile (that I still have!). At the [...]

Pattern: Broadripple by Rob Matyska Yarn: Lucy Neatby’s Celestial Merino Dream in Fiesta colourway. Needles: 3.25mm DPNs These socks took ages. But for the right reasons. The pattern was so deliciously easy to follow and the yarn was yummy to knit with. I took a break after the first sock to knit my dad’s fathers [...]
