Today marks the change of my blog to movable type 4. David has spent all day fiddling and transferring and altering my layout so that it can go live tonight. And it is live now :)
If you see any problems then please comment, let me know and tell me if there is anything I need to change. Cheers everyone :)
I have just finished adding various links to my blog, including a list of blogs that I read regularly. If you are there and don't want to be, then let me know and I'll take it down. If you are not there and feel you should be there, then let me know and I'll put you up (there is bound to be someone that I have missed off without realising it :/ )
Today I have started Fuzzy Feet from Knitty. It feels weird to be knitting socks that are soooo very large. And it doesn't take long to come up. Don't like the needles I am using (plastic 7mm DPNs) but I can live with it until the slippers are done :)
Just to let you know that I have changed my comment settings, so in order to post a comment, you have to be able to type the word 'giraffe'. Easy peasy. It is to block spam without me having to approve comments, as it was quite annoying as many comments weren't getting emailed so I didn't realise there were comments there.
I said 'comments' way too many times in that sentence :/
Other news, knitting / crochet / etc is on hold for a few days as I reread Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince before The Deathly Hallows comes out tomorrow at 00:01 :D Yes, I will be there to collect my copy at that time. If I am awake because tomorrow is the end of term. And this week has been soooooo hectic.
I loved the last week of the year as a child. Seeing it from the other side, I *hate* it. So much admin, paperwork, getting organised and general stuff. It feels like next Tuesday, this week has been so slow. But tomorrow is the end and I say bye bye to my class.
Just a little note ...
For some reason, only some of my comments are being emailed to me. This is quite annoying. I don't want to allow you to just post without needing approval as I am getting an awful lot of spam comments that I, obviously, don't want to fill my site with. Don't know what to do, just need to keep checking in, I suppose :(
In other knitting news, I have not actually done any knitting today. Instead, I have been updating my Ravelry stuff [ravelry.com]. Here are my thoughts so far ...
- It is fairly easy to use, once you have gotten the hang of it.
- It is difficult to use if you have questions. Unless you go through the forum, there is no 'troubleshooting' section, for example.
- You could spend hours on there - the amount of stuff on there is vast. And it is still only in beta.
- I don't like having to rely on flickr. I would much rather host my own photos.
- I find it difficult to just randomly search for friends.
All in all, tis good. I have been organising photos all evening. All photos you have seen, like. So don't think you are missing out :p
Welcome to 2007. My blog is nearly one year old and to celebrate this, I thought I would add a new category to my list - crafty things! The reasons behind this? I like to be crafty from time to time. And I like to share my crafty things with people. Also, it will be a nice record to keep of the different things I attempt, the various work in progress and unfinished objects I have on the go and just for my own amusement :)
Also, to celebrate the first anniversary of prettyinpurple, I shall be making a few modifications to the site. I intend to widen the middle column, in order to place some fun and exciting photographs and I shall make sure I update more. I have been very poor in updating my books and film categories and have practically abandoned my 101 things in 1001 days. I also want to try and create an RSS feed through LiveJournal, where I spend a lot of time and hopefully this will generate more readers. And the final addition I plan on making is an extra section where I shall list the various websites that I enjoy frequenting, various blogs I enjoy reading, various sites of interest and the like.
So, watch this space for more details. I need to remember my html and I also need to fashion some time from somewhere to accomplish these things!
Well, I am fairly happy with the current layout and have finally managed to get most of my options correct and how I want them. A few little tweaking bits need to be done, but generally I am happy. Yippee :)
Pretty In Purple is getting bigger! One of the things I wanted to do here was have a bit of a photo gallery for some of the photos I take and some that I like. Well, with the assistance of David [misthaven.org.uk/blog] and PixelPost [pixelpost.org] I have created my photo gallery [prettyinpurple.com]. This is quite exciting! I only have one photo on there at the moment, as a bit of a test, and there are lots of things I want to do in order to customize it, but as a starter it looks quite good!
Good Evening. This is my first entry here so this is more of a test than anything else. More to follow soon.
